8/30/10
- Just put up a page with pix, taken this past week, or
so, of our parent fed Camelot Macaw, hatched 7/15/09 and
handfed Camelina Macaw, hatched on 8/27/09. Have a first
peek here at our young Camelina
& Camelot Macaw pair.
I also uploaded a few pix taken on 8/21/10 of our youngest
baby
Capri Macaw hatched
on 6/16/10 and our youngest baby
Camelot Macaw hatched on 6/24/10, who is rather
unusual.
8/02/10 - The
Hybrid Classifieds are now online. I have gotten
older and it is time to downsize. I am selling some of
my prime breeding stock. All pairs have been seen anually
by Dr. Scott McDonald, DVM. I also have young pet &
baby Camelot hybrid macaws for sale
7/01/10- I plan to finally update the site over the upcoming
weeks. This summer, we already have 4 brand new multi-generation
baby hybrid macaws from 3 different sets of parents ...
more info to follow later.
For
the curious, there is a legitimate reason I haven't worked
on the site for the past year, or so. Picture theft from
this site, primarily by Cameroon scam artists, became
epidemic. There were hundreds of pictures, that I took
of my birds over the years, apparently for sale all over
the Internet, and all over the world. I received multiple
complaints about the problem. I finally spent weeks and
weeks marking and re-uploading the existing pictures with
many-feathers.com across the front, and still have not
completed the task. It has curbed the volume of scam ads
on the web with my stolen pictures significantly, but
not completely eliminated the problem. I still have more
to mark, and will be marking all new photos prior to uploading.
I do not like having to do this. It has basically taken
all of the joy out of working on the site away for me.
11/04/09 - This has been an extraordinarily busy year
here. Over the summer 5 new hybrid macaw babies hatched
from 3 different sets of parents. They were each originally
parent hatched & fed. All are different ages. 4 were
brought inside, at varying times, to be hand raised, including
two red dominant 1st generation Camelot Macaw babies from
one set of parents, and two baby Camelina Macaws (3rd
generation Catalina hybrids) from another set of parents
(that look like Catalina macaws but with exceptionally
beautiful markings and coloration.) Additionally, on 7/15/09,
proven 1st generation Camelot pair, Gabe & Lilly,
hatched a yellow/orange dominant Camelot baby that has
been completely parent raised. Unfortunately, they over
preened his neck and his upper wings, which really bothered
me, so I brought him inside to live with the pet macaws.
